Job Description:

HOURS: 10pm - 6:30 am that includes rotating holidays and rotating weekends

To triage and process patient specimens in a timely and accurate manner for individual laboratory testing and referred testing (both intra- and extra system) in accordance with department policies and procedures, regulatory and safety standards and good laboratory practice. To use a customer focused approach with internal and external customers in regard to all supportive activities in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, including registration, billing, troubleshooting, customer response and in resolving order and billing errors.
Accountabilities:
1. Triages and processes specimens efficiently and accurately according to policy and procedure.
2. Provision of patient data, specimen status, collection procedures, etc. in response to physician and/or nursing staff inquiries.
3. Effectively utilizes computer systems (HIS, LIS, CL) to ensure accuracy of patient data.
4. Refers specimens to intra- and extra-system laboratories.
5. Operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment.
6. Maintains adequate inventory of supplies as required by the department.
7. Safety Practice: at all times.

This position services both Del Monte customers and internal operations by providing technical expertise with all aspects related to the post harvest handling, ripening, distributing, warehousing, and merchandising of Del Monte products.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Train/advise North American customer base and company personnel regarding proper receiving, ripening, warehousing, shipping, retailing, and merchandising practices for all DMFP products.

* Coordinate and chair advisory meetings with customers and company personnel focusing on improving distribution center profitability, quality, and operational efficiency. Follow each meeting with a written report detailing recommendations.
* Conduct training and informational seminars for internal company divisions and Del Monte Fresh Produce customers.
* Conduct field level evaluations of QA, R&D, production, and packaging trials. Provide detailed written reports and analysis of each trial.
* Involvement in conducting and reporting on experimental analysis of new products and packaging.
* Assist Sales department in new product roll out.
* Implement Technical Service training programs at the customer level.
* Assist with QA functions as needed at NA Ports or DC's.
* Position is up to 75% travel.

Required Skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

* Four year college degree.
* Proficiency with most MS Office software (i.e. Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong math and science skills.
* Ability to lift 40lb boxes of produce overhead.

PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:
Bi-lingual: Fluent in English and Spanish.

* Previous produce/QA/QC related work experience.
